Happy Leap Year, Pop Minds, Will Ferrell

Happy Leap Year, everyone! Or perhaps that should be: Happy Birthday to all leaplings!
We observe the modern leap year because Earth orbits the sun every 365.242 days, which evidently isn’t an easy number to work out on calendars. Seems to me that the way we count time is a rather sloppy system that’s been grandfathered in from the Romans. Which reminds me: I’m sick of daylight saving time.
Attention web designers: The guys at Pop Minds have created a number of cool and useful web design tools, including a Stripe Generator and a Tabs Generator.
Oh, Web 2.0. So . . . when can we stop calling it Web 2.0?
Here’s an amusing video from ESPN: “Bill Walton Faces Will Ferrell in a Game of Horse.” Ferrell continues to promote his new movie Semi-Pro by appearing everywhere as Flint Tropics player/coach Jackie Moon. There was that Super Bowl ad for Bud Light as well. “Bud Light . . . suck one!” Still funny. Semi-Pro opens tomorrow, February 29. I’ll wait to rent it.
ESPN columnist Bill Simmons is trying to help Seattle save the Sonics from being stolen away to Oklahoma and he’s also trying to land a job as the next Bucks GM.
Here’s some random science for you: “Blind Irishman sees with the aid of son’s tooth in his eye.” It’s Osteo-Odonto-Keratoprosthesis! Now, remember kids, that’s OOKP for short.
I guess this will be a short post, in honor of this year’s day to make up for lost time.
